The year is already a month old and I haven’t been on in a while. I’m a big fan of audiobooks and am currently reading The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. It makes me think about the lives I might have lived and the different choices I might have made. Staying in Germany in 2006 would have cost me the twelve years in San Diego near my mother Jewell before she passed away in 2018. Not having gone back to Germany in 1979 would have cost me a world of international experiences and changed who I became. And, spoiler alert, I think the book makes clear that every life we choose, or decision we make, no matter how enticing it might seem when NOT taken, can be fraught with pitfalls and unhappiness.
